Can I order pathology tests privately?

THE MYTH: 

Your GP/Specialist is the only one that can order pathology tests for you. 

THE REALITY: 

Far too many people don't receive the treatment they need because they are being limited by the constraints of what pathology testing their GP is allowed to order.

If you are struggling to be heard, then it is time for you to be your own advocate and take control of the outcome. If your medical practitioner won't or can't order a test, you have the right to order it privately.

That's right, there is nothing stopping you from ordering your own private pathology tests. Doctors are restricted by Medicare guidelines so they can only order tests that directly relate to what you are being treated for or fit the criteria for. 

Private pathology has no limitations because you pay for it privately without any Medicare rebate or involvement.

While you still need a referral from a practitioner, i.e. Naturopath, Nutritionist etc, you don't need one from your GP or Specialist.

When you order a pathology test through us, that automatically includes your referral to the lab.

You simply find the test you want on our website, order it, we arrange for the test kit to come out to you, you complete the test and send it back to the lab. We only use the most strictly controlled and regulated labs in Australia so you know you are getting quality testing.

Your test will also need to be analysed by a professional but it is your choice if you take the test result to another practitioner, or at the time of purchase, you can elect to add on a consultation with us to receive your results and analysis.

Private functional testing is not something that should be read without professional support as there are many facets to it, not just simply reading a set of numbers or a range to see if you fall within it. It is also why most GP's won't order the tests, because they are not qualified to read these sorts of tests in conjunction with other test results and any existing health conditions.
