This program has been designed to help families achieve a sustainable level of health and wellness without breaking the family budget. 

Who does family cover apply to?  Families of 1 or 2 parents with 1 or 2 children, all living under the same roof. Children are covered until the age of 18 while living at home or until they cease studying while living at home. This means if you have a 20 year old currently studying at University but living at home, they are still part of your family package until they finish studying.  

We often find that in families where one person has a complex illness, that there are in fact other family members with illnesses that need to be treated. For e.g. We often see families where one parent has their own complex health situation such as depression/anxiety, poor gut health, thyroid issues etc, and the family also has one or two children who are all dealing with complex illnesses such as ASD, IBS, Anxiety, Allergies, Fructose Intolerance etc.  

In these situations the parent will often forgo their own treatment to ensure their children receive the necessary care. Whilst this is understandable, the reality is that if the parent isn't being treated for their own medical needs then they will eventually be unable to provide the support and care for their family.

Not all family members have to have complex, long term health challenges or be treated for the full 12 months. The program is designed for families where at least 1 adult and 1 child are dealing with ongoing health problems. It also then allows for treatment for an additional adult and additional child at anytime during the 12 months.

The additional family members may only need short term care for example when dealing with a bad case of the flu, after a stomach bug outbreak at school, etc.

Complex illnesses are illnesses that have usually been ongoing for some months, or in some cases, years.  A complex case is where the person may have had one illness and through that illness it has now become multiple, complex illnesses and the current treatment model isn't working. 

Something that is complex needs time to be unravelled and treated at the source. We don't treat only the exterior symptoms. We analyse, we test and we dig deep to find the root cause of the illness to ensure we can provide you with care that will provide you with long term wellness.

We see all too often, patients with complex illnesses who see improvement in symptoms after a short time working with us, and then decide that they no longer need ongoing care as they are "fixed". Sadly, this is not the case and in fact, these patients often come back to us with even worse health problems that are caused by not treating the original ones long term.  

Do we have to take supplements? 

Not always however there is usually some supplementation involved. Our food sources in the present day are simply not providing us with the quality and quantity of nutrients that our bodies need to sustain our health. 

When we prescribe a supplement it is because we know from experience, from analysing your case and your symptoms, what your body is needing to be able to return to normal functioning. Often we will prescribe multiple supplements at once and we will then adjust dosage over time. Some you may take every day, others for a short period. Each person is treated individually and supplements are prescribed accordingly.

Can we provide our own supplements?

It is up to you if you wish to source your own supplements however we do not prescribe over the counter supplements. The majority of the supplements we prescribe are practitioner only supplements and you would need to buy them from a practitioner. This means you cannot buy them over the counter.

Why are supplements so expensive?

The reason for this is the quality of the ingredients in the supplement. 

All supplements we recommend are medical grade supplements of the highest quality and approved for use in Australia and strictly controlled by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

Unfortunately, despite being controlled by the TGA, our supplements are not provided with exemptions or given the same cost saving benefits of traditional pharmaceuticals so the full cost is passed on to the patient. To offset this we provide you with a 5% discount on each supplement order and free shipping.

Can multiple family members use the same supplement?

To offset the cost of supplements we always look for the best value we can provide, determine if we can utilise each supplement for other treatments or for other family members.

How do we order the supplements?

At each appointment we will discuss supplements you need and seek your approval to order them for you. This is the quickest way for you to receive your supplements and begin your treatment, as we order and dispatch to you directly from our suppliers. 

Unfortunately the program does not include the cost of further medical testing. Where possible we will prescribe tests that you may be able to seek a referral for from your GP however with the current changes in Medicare, even the pathology testing your doctor orders is increasing in price and being covered less and less by Medicare. 

There are some specific, targeted tests that may be required however we are always mindful of the costs involved and will only suggest tests when we really believe they are necessary for ongoing analysis.
